Vellai Appam

Ingredients Required:

  • Raw rice-2 cups
  • Udad dhal : 1/2 cup
  • Salt-According to taste
  • Green Chillies - 2-3 cut into small pieces
  • Ginger - 3/4 inch Grated finely
  • Baking soda -Just a pinch
  • Oil to fry

Cooking Method:

  • Soak rice and udad dhal together for 2 hours.
  • Grind in the grinder like grinding for medu vada.
  • Add green chillies and grated ginger to this mixture.
  • Add salt and baking soda.
  • Add oil in pan and heat in medium flame.
  • Make small balls out of the batter and fry in oil.
  • Turn over and fry again.
  • Serve hot with any tomato onion chutney or ketchup.
